STEP 1 - Locate the mp3 ringtone on your computer and click the "N E X T" button. PLEASE NOTE- ringtones must be less than 500KB

Directions for creating and cutting your own ringtone from a full song and sending it to your mobile phone.

WINDOWS USERS
1)
Download the free program dBpowerAMP - CLICK HERE.

2) Open dBpowerAMP and convert your song to a Wave file “16 Bit (CD)”, “22050 Hz”, “1”Mono”

3) Open Sound Recorder and crop your song into a 30 second clip. (Sound Recorder is a free program with windows based computers. Go to search and type in Sound Recorder or select “Start >Run>”sndrec32”)

4) After you have cropped your ringtone select file>save.

5) Open dBpowerAMP and convert the 30 second clip to"Mp3 (Lame)", Channels "Mono", Frequency "22050 Hz" slide the quality to "32Kbps", check "Volume Normalize" and uncheck "Preserve ID Tags". DON'T go into Advanced Options.

6) Convert Mp3.

7) Login to Playmelody.com and go to ringtones.

8) Upload the ringtone choose your phone model and carrier and then send it to your mobile phone.

9) Finally after you send it to your mobile phone open the message and select options> “go to” or “find” then select “web address” which will automatically download the ringtone directly to your phone.

APPLE USERS
Application, Setup, and Conversion for Apple Users
1) Download or upgrade itunes 5+

2) Open itunes and select edit>Preferences>Advanced>Importing

3) Next to “Import Using” select MP3 Encoder, next to “Setting” select custom.

4) In the MP3 Encoder window make sure the Stereo Bit Rate is 64 kbps, Sample Rate 22.050 kHz and Channel is Mono. (Leave “ Variable Bit Rate” and “Smart Encoding Adjustments” Unchecked.)

5) Run itunes and select a song you would like from your playlist.

6) You will need to crop your song to no more than 30 seconds.

7) Right click your mouse over the song and select Get Info.

8) Select the Options tab and change the “Start Time” and “Stop Time” to crop whatever part of the song you would like. (You can change the Volume Adjustment to make your ringtone louder if necessary.)

9) Once you complete step 8 click Ok

10) Right click song and select Convert Selection to MP3.

11) This song is now saved in your itunes Library. Right click the new song>select Convert ID3 Tags>check ID3 Tag version>select none and click OK.

12) The file is now saved in your itunes library and ready to be sent to your phone.
